Special Events

Oregon Contemporary Theatre hosts a number of special events each year, including play readings, the NW 10 Festival of Ten-minute Plays, and more. Follow the pages below to get more information on upcoming events.

  • Welcome back The Kinsey Sicks in "OY VEY IN A MANGER!"

    November 29 & 30

Join America's Favorite DragapellaŽ Beautyshop Quartet for Oy Vey in a Manger, where we find Angel, Winnie, Trixie, and Trampolina trying to sell off their manger--yes, that manger--before it's foreclosed upon. Crises arise, secrets are revealed, Jewish-Gentile tensions surface, and mayhem ensues--all in glorious four-part harmony.

  • Bunfight with Paul Calandrino and Rachael Carnes

    December 6 - 15; evening shows at 7:30, one matinee December 15 at 2:00

    Two playwrights. One stage.

Local playwrights Paul Calandrino and Rachael Carnes go head-to-head in a night of original short plays, fully produced for the first time!

  • Everyone has a play in them -- why not write yours this October? Meet up with other writers at weekly Write-In events, and challenge yourself to write a ten-minute, one-act, or full length play in a month! Free events, open to writers of all experience levels.

  • Oregon Contemporary Theatre is a regular co-producer of the popular NW10 Festival of Ten-minute Plays, an annual festival taking place in the late spring of each year. Find out more about this year's festival, past festivals, and how you can submit your script for NW10!

  • Oregon Contemporary Theatre's annual benefit, Experience OCT, supports OCT's professional theatre productions and exceptional, life-long education programming. The evening's festivities include local food and drinks, a silent auction, a wine wall, and performances by incredible local talents!

  • Oregon Contemporary Theatre and Northwest Ten are proud to present readings of all-new short plays and selections of full-length works as a part of Supporting Woman Artists Now (SWAN) Day and the 365 Women a Year Project.

  • Ever wonder how a designer created an effect? What helped an actor to make a moment real? What a director thinks a play is all about? Now is your chance to ask! Following each Sunday matinee performance of the regular season, OCT hosts a post-show discussion with several members of the cast and production team.
