Sofie is an unhappy housewife. Gregor is her bread-winning husband. Dr. Franz is their psychiatrist. Wink is the cat. And Gregor has just skinned the cat. Violent desires, domestic terrorism, and feline vengeance at any cost make WINK a dark comedy about the thin, thin line between savagery and civilization. Boldly creative, smartly crafted, and very, very darkly comic.

Jen Silverman (Playwright) is a multi-hyphenate playwright, poet, and novelist whose work has been produced nationally and internationally, on and off Broadway. Their plays balance lyricism with grounded sincerity, and highlight the power of hope in seemingly hopeless times. Silverman is a Guggenheim Fellow, a three-time MacDowell Fellow, and recipient of the Yale Drama Series Award. Their play The Roommate recently closed its Broadway run, with Mia Farrow and Pattie LuPone in the leading roles.
Tara Wilbrew (Director) is delighted to be creating again with the incomparable community of artists at Oregon Contemporary Theatre. She was last seen onstage at OCT in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Yitzhak) alongside her band, The NightViews. When not creating art, Tara works to support the arts community as Executive Director at Lane Arts Council. Apologies to Poppy and BB, her dogs, for the weeks spent focused on Wink the cat. Immeasurable gratitude to this crew, cast, the families--and pets--supporting these artists, and the entire OCTeam. It's good to be home.
