OCT welcomes all interested volunteers! Some areas of need are listed below. Please contact Mary Wetherbee at  mary@octheatre.org or call 541.684.6988 with your inquiries. Volunteers earn free tickets to productions during the regular season!

Volunteer Areas:
Administration: General office support, data entry and lookup, research, filing, and more. Volunteers generally assist approximately 2 hours/week.

Box Office:  Ticket sales to the public during the run of each production (Sept. - June). We ask that Box Office volunteers commit to one day a week for a regular 2.5-hour shift (Tuesdays - Saturdays). Box Office volunteers are also asked to attend one annual meeting. Training is provided!

Opening Night Preparation: Cleaning the lobby and theatre; preparing reception spaces; and more. Help us get ready for the big opening night for each production! Daytime of opening, approximately 2-5 hours; November 8, January 17, February 19, April 17, May 8.

Production: Creation of sets, props, and costumes; light and sound board operation; and more. Volunteers generally assist approximately 2-4 hours/week during production weeks, depending on interests and production needs. Training is available as needed. Production volunteers need to have some availability between 9am-6pm on weekdays.

Ushering: Work under the direction of House Managers, take tickets, seat patrons, assist House Managers during intermission and after the show is over. We ask that ushers attend one annual meeting for an overview of the season and usher responsibilities. Ushers get to see the show the night they volunteer, an approximately 3.5 hour commitment. Most ushers assist once per production -- about one show per month, September - June. For those who like to plan ahead: our ushers can sign up for their preferred volunteer evenings a month in advance!
