Long Day's Journey - A Playwriting Workshop

  • Long Day's Journey: A Playwriting Workshop with Paul Calandrino
    Tuesdays, April 4 - May 23; 6:30-8:30pm

You've written a number of ten-minute plays and now you want to try your hand at a full-length script. You have more to say, bigger stories to tell, conflicts that won't be confined to a mere ten pages anymore. This class will start you down the path to planning and completing a full-length play. In class, we'll read and analyze a full-length play featured in the OCT season. You'll read and report on another full-length play of your choosing. We'll discuss what kinds of story ideas have legs and which don't, and how much or little you need to plan before writing. You'll write and workshop your play's opening scenes, up to and including the inciting incident. And you'll write and workshop at least one other "crystalline moment" from later in your play.
